Grocery says no to baby's bum cake

Like any good mom, Gail Jordan wanted to do something special for her son's 21st birthday. Her idea was to put a picture of her son, David, on a birthday cake. The kicker? David, who was five months old in the picture, was not wearing a diaper, so you could see his bum in the picture. The mom with a good sense of humor thought they'd have a laugh--boy was she wrong.
The Asda grocery where Gail requisitioned the cake flat out refused to produce the dessert, saying the nudie pic constituted child pornography. The powers that be (were?) at the Asda finally acquiesced and let Gail use the picture, but only after they put a Perez Hilton-like censor over the bare bum. Gail didn't have time to get another cake made up so she settled for the star-covered bum bake.
Gail said she understood the rules but that common sense should also play a part in the decision. As she points out, the world is full of ads featuring baby bottoms--namely, those for diapers and wipes. I can't imagine what Asda would make of the Coppertone ads from my childhood, where a little dog is pulling down the bikini bottom of a young blonde girl, who, by the way, wasn't even wearing a top!

It really is a shmae that these kinds of pictures need to be so protected. Everyone has them as a kid in the bath tub or just running around without a diaper but in this day and age and all the sick people I guess we all have to suffer for what the sick people do. None of my pictures were ever asked about at the walmart I got them developed at which in some there were bare butt but I had gotten my sons pictures developed there from day one and put in sometimes 5 rolls a week. Yes I was over obsesive with the pics. I have none of mine when i was a baby, my dad threw them all away when we left him so I made sure my son had more pictures than anyone. All the pictures I put in never caused a stir but My friend was differnt. She put hers in somewhere else and they pulled the bare butt ones and called the police which them they contacted her for child porn. It was a big fight and she never did get the pics but did not get charged. I guess it is alright if you know the people who develop the pics and they know you are a nice person and if not all of your pictures and naked ones then that is differnt but for people who dont know you i guess it is not a good idea to take those cute embarassing pictures. Geez what fun is that when you cant embarrass you kids no more.
I understand there are sick people in this world but just as mentioned there are bare butts on the tv for diapers, sun screen, wipes and others so if it is such a big deal then they should not be shown on there either.

I was under the impression that you could take butt pics until the child was a year old. I get my son's pics taken every month professionally and they told me to bring him in the week before he turns one if I want one last bottom picture. It really is a sad world when you can't even take pics of your baby's bottom

I have never heard of such a rule Brandi and I hope it's not true, maybe it's only in the US?
If I was this woman I would have gone to another store the minute they gave me a hard time.

I was also told by our photographer that we could only take nekkie shots until they were a year old. I don't see what the problem was with this picture as long as he was really 5 months old. It is a sad world when you have to censor your own PRIVATE photos.
